The timing belt tensioner is part of the inner combustion engine of the automobile. Worn out timing belt tensioners will be the leading trigger for timing belt failures. Wear on the tensioner can be difficult to detect. Some that look Okay may actually be close to the end of their services life. It is most economical and efficient to displace the tensioner when the timing belt is usually replaced.
